Fall Out Boy SF show 12/21

Well, this day was a combination of emotions and feelings.

I stayed in the city the night before, because I know how FOB fans are and they would be there early (since the tickets are sold at the door, the day off the show).

I couldn't sleep the entire night before and decided to set my alarm at 4:30 to head out to the venue, which was conveniently located one block away. I woke up earlier since I couldn't sleep and headed out around 4:30 instead. There was no one around, which I was very surprised to see...I guess these signs scared people away.

I hung around until some girls drove up and asked if I was there for the show. They stayed, so I decided to stay. Then about 15 minutes later clumsygyrl, lovelypoet and their friend Missi (who was seeing FOB for the first time).

They informed me that they talked with security the night before and as long as we were off their premises then we could line up. So, that's exactly what we did.

From there we preceded to wait in line 13 hours until doors...we all pointed out we were crazy, lol. We had to deal with many elements thanks to mother nature...rain, cold, damp, it wasn't fun but we did it cause were die hards.

Met up with Laurel and Sharon, her mom, again...They are the coolest people ever!

So, we all get in around 6:30 and then have to wait over an hour for the opening band to come on. Right from the moments all 400+ people were inside the venue and we were being smashed before the opening band came on, I knew the night would only go downhill...

It did. The opening band was called Runner, Runner. I had never heard of them, but they were very energetic and upbeat so I can appreciate the effort. You can tell they were very excited to open for Fall Out Boy.

Then of course came the moment I had been waiting for all day, Fall Out Boy. That's when hell begun for every single person in the front. Great American Music Hall uses cocktail tables and their barricade...I wish they wouldn't have.

From the first note on, it was a battle...me vs. the 400+ people behind me who wanted to be as close to FOB as possible (like they weren't close already). I was having the most fun possible, while trying to protect myself from being crushed and not having my legs cut off.

I applaud the fact that the band recognized this and tried to get the crowd to back up and let the people up front breathe, but the 4+ times pete asked it would last for a second and then go back to normal. The security at GAMH was crap and should have done a better job controlling the crowd. They knew who was coming and should have been better prepared. I got the bruises and back pain this morning to prove how crazy I was...

I didn't let the pain get to me. I just kept saying to myself this is your favorite band in a small venue...you will most likely never see this happen again. So, I keep pushing back, singing my heart out, rocking out and I know the band saw that. Every member looked into my eyes and knew I was a die-hard and wasn't going to back down, even though I was experiencing some of the worst pain in my life.

The end of the show probably was the highlight for me, but utter hell for many others. Pete stopped before the last part of Saturday and told the people who had been in front the entire show to sit up on the tables. Lucky for me the girl behind me was already trying to do this. So, I saw that (plus have heard of Pete doing this at other shows) and I got my legs up on the table and prepared myself. The security didn't want us on the stage, that didn't last long. One guy stood up and started going across and then everyone wanted to go up. Lucky for me since I was already on the stage, unfortunate for anyone that couldn't make it up cause they got trampled and that is very unfortunate.

It was amazing to be on stage with my favorite band, singing right next to pete. Got to hug Laurel on stage, which was amazing she is such a trooper. Andy was also very nice enough to hand me a drumstick before the security dude nearly threw everyone off the stage.

Also, forgot to mention all of FOBs' crew members decided to surprise the guys by playing a song. It was very funny to see the guy's faces light up and to see how surprised they were. I didn't recognize the song, but Andy twittered about it...

It was also very cool to get acknowledged by Andy...I twittered him before I went to bed and woke up to a reply that made me warm inside :)

Overall, I personally had one of the best/worst show experiences of my life. I am leaning towards the best because of how it ended and how the band all looked me in the eye and knew I was a die-hard. That is why I love this band so...

Jan. 4, 2007 - Fall Out Boy/New Found Glory/The Early November San Fran, CA

- This was the first of my many FOB shows
- My first road trip ever (Went to SF and then down to Anaheim)
- Probably my favorite tour simply because I got to see my favorite band in small venues
- No great pictures since The Warfield made me check my camera; all for the best

Hey everyone, I posted my recap of my Warped experience and now I have the pictures to share with you all...

My day started seeing Paramore.

Went to their signing next. Just got one picture, because no pic's with band were allowed.

Saw The Academy Is next!!! Kinda stood back and watched in awe.

Ran over to their signing next, since it was literally after their set was over.

So Warped Tour today....

Well I just got back about an hour ago from San Francisco and man what a day I had.

LOL, I feel dumb because I'm so new to LJ that I don't even know how to use the voice posts thing or I probably would have today.

So, forgive the list but this is what my day consists of:

- Got to the Pier around 7 am, to find that we were rather close to the front of the line
- Met up with some friends and they let us in at 10
- We walked around to all the tents to grab free crap, LOL, before it was all gone you know...
- Saw Paramore!! They are amazing... (pictures to come)
- Caught the end of Thursday's set. They are still amazing...
- Went to the Paramore signing. Was very upset on how mean their manager was. Well, at least I think it was their manager. No pics with the band, I understand I guess.
- Went to see TAI!! Oh my, my first time seeing them. They were AMAZING!!! William pratically stripped off his shirt and grabbed his crouch on many occasions, LOL. I was not complaining at all. (pictures to come)
- Went straight to TAI signing. OMFG they are so beautiful up close. I got a picture with William!!! I swear I was shaking so much. As I heard from clumsygyrl he did initiate a handshake. What I thought was funny is how he didn't sign anything until you shook his hand, I thought it was so sweet. (no worries, I got pics here too) You can see my dorky picture with William, LOL.
- Went right over to the Ernie Ball stage to get in front for Gym Class Heroes. Sorry, yes my day was spent seeing many FBR bands; but what can I say I love them!! Gym Class was so amazing and Travis is so TALL in person. I really had no idea, LOL. You will see in my pic with him, I'm almost cut out of the pic, LOL!! Got their autographs as well. All those guys were just so damn nice and they played 2 new songs which made my day.
- After all this, though it doesn't seem like much but waiting in line for signings takes an hour out of your day for each band. But, no complaints here. I'm still so giddy from being so close to William and having it captured in a picture, LOL!!

Now I'm home and just trying to wrap my brain around this WONDERFUL day and how I can't wait to go next year!!!

My trip to Vegas...

So friends please forgive my first entry. I am not much of a writer to begin with and this is my first LJ post. A new friend I met in Vegas, callsigns pretty much pushed me into signing up for one of these, LOL. Hey, I'm not complaining at all. Since joining, I am already starting to become addicted, LOL.

So, since this is my first post I decided I should talk about something recent that has gone on in my life. My 13 year-old cousin, soon to be 14-year old tomorrow (Happy pre B-Day Michelle), loves Panic! At the Disco. As soon and I told her they were going on a headlining tour, she got our aunt to buy us tickets to their show in Vegas. I was like hey I like Panic! and any excuse for a free trip to Vegas I will not turn that down.

After arriving to Vegas, you could see the excitement in her face. She was already pretty mad at me, because I had just saw Panic! at Live 105's BFD in Mountain View, CA not only 2 days ago. So, though I was very excited to see them again; she was just over the moon, LOL.

The day of the show I was the first to wake up, which I thought was weird. We stayed at the Hard Rock, so we didn't have to go far to see how long the line was. We spent about one hour, I want to say just walking around the very small casino the Hard Rock had. Michelle kept seeing little 12 year girls walking around the hotel and walking to this one spot of the hotel. She finally decided to go check out what was going on and found the line to the show; of course it was outside, where it was only 90 degrees outside. The highlight of the day for me, besides meeting Greta from The Hush Sound (which was quite a highlight in itself), was meeting my new friends callsigns Jessa, deliberatehips Rae, and clumsygyrl Fiona waiting in line. Without those gals I would have gone insane waiting in line for 7 hours in the damn heat!! Not to mention my over-excited cousin (I do understand her excitement though) left me every 5 minutes to hunt down Panic!.

Overall, the actual show itself was fantastic! Seeing The Hush Sound for the 3rd time was brilliant!! Aww, how I love the Hushies. OK GO, in my opinion, could GO away for all I care. Sorry to offend anyone, but they sounded like crap! The only highlight that came from their set was watching their funny dance to "A Million Ways." Panic! was great again. Oh Brendon and Ryan need to get a room, LOL.

Overall very good times and I can't wait for Warped in San Francisco...
